Songwriter to the Stars Diane Warren is a “Bride” at the Oscars at Last

After 13 Oscar nominations without a win, songwriter Diane Warren might feel like an “always a bridesmaid, never a bride” when it comes to the gold statuette. Her nominations include “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now,” “Because You Loved Me,” “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” and “Somehow You Do.” She created hit songs for everyone from Lady Gaga to Gloria Estefan to Common to Aerosmith. As she prepared to receive the Honorary Oscar at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Governors Awards this weekend, she showed her wit with a photo of herself as a “bride,” in a fabulous Oscar de la Renta bridal gown, her date the iconic Oscar itself.

Her latest song, “Applause” from “Tell it Like a Woman, is a likly Oscar nominee. So hold on to that dress, Diane! Oscar may be getting a buddy at next year’s ceremony.
